Top Five Liquid Lipsticks

April 24, 2018

About two years ago I was obsessed with plain lipsticks and wouldn't touch any type of lipgloss or styles like that however when the hype came about for liquid lips I caved and bought a Kat Von D liquid lipstick and instantly fell in love and i've been about three tubes since then. So here's my top five!

- Swatched from top to bottom, ABH - Heather, ABH - Veronica, Kat Von D - Bow N Arrow, Morphe - Bloodshot, Morphe - Suspect -

£20 - Top two are Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in the shades Heathers and Veronica. I bought these whilst I was in New York before it came to the UK properly and they are my top liquid lips I just need to buy a nude colour as they are dark colours which I don't reach for as much on the daily. But they do dry down beautiful and do have a good staying power. I'd happily buy many more of these and if you don't have them in your collection and you do love a liquid lip I would highly recommend.

£17 - This third colour is the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in the shade Bow N Arrow. This like I said at the start of the post is one of the first liquid lipsticks that I ever bought and it's been probably the best i've ever owned. It's incredibly pigmented and is a perfect dark nude just a few shades darker than my natural lip colour. They do dry down beautifully and they have amazing staying power. I did receive another shade of this for Christmas which was darker on the website and swatches however it was a pink colour and I don't really like pink shades on my lips I prefer purple/orangey-browny nudes. Again, if you haven't got one in your collection I recommend this lip over all the others as they aren't too pricey and the formula is beautiful (plus they smell gorgeous).

£12 - The last two shades are Morphe Liquid Lipstick's in the shade Bloodshot and Suspect. I bought these lips when they were on sale on Beauty Bay and I certainly don't regret buying them. I wear them on nearly every night out, the colour payoff is beautiful and they also dry down really well. As they are the cheapest of all my favourites I take them out as I don't mind having to replace them if they get lost or anything like that - student problems. But they do have amazing stay power for a night out if you drink with a straw of course. The darker shade as you can see does skip a little however I find paired with a lip liner it is perfect. Dark shades in any makeup item are always harder to create so for the price point - Morphe does their products well.

I hope this post was informative and if you go ahead and buy one of these products please comment or tag me on twitter! I hope you love them as much as I do! If you are more of a lipstick gal this post will be for you!

See you soon!

Love, Ellie x
